The 300-th anniversary of St.Petersburg
As you probably know, in the end of May the 300-th anniversary celebration took place in St.Petersburg.
Russian re-enactors participated in these events too. On May,27 it was a naval re-enactment on the Neva river just in the center of the city.
It was the storm of a Swedish battleship by Russian soldiers. The wooden battleship made in according to the old drawings entered the river and went to the city center. There Russian dragoons approached to it on boats and shelled at it. Then the boats came closer and boarded the Swedish ship. After long boarding fighting Russians captured the ship and the Russian flag was raised on its mast. Several our familiar re-enactors from Piter (St.Petersburg) took part in it. The Swediah admiral was President of The Russian Re-enactment association Oleg Sokolov. It was a very exciting show. Some photos of it you can see here:

Though the text on these pages is in Russian we think the pictures are able to tell everything without any words.

And also if you want to know more about St.Petersburg and the 300th anniversary celebration you can see the English version of the St.Petersburg official site.
