    Denis Davidov is a prominent Russian poet, writer, a participant of the Napoleonic wars, a hero of the war of 1812, the commander of a partisan detachment.
    In his "War Memoirs" he describes military operations of the war of 1812, writes about Generalissimo Suvorov, Emperor Napoleon, Tsesarevich (Crown Prince) Konstantin Pavlovich with his own brilliant observation and sense of humor.
