The Action of General Platov's Cossacks At the Villages Of Karelichi And Mir On June,28,1812 (The picture by Krasovsky) The action shown on this picture was one of the first fightings between the Russian and Napoleonic troops. This battle is one of the numerous heroic deeds of the famous Cossack Ataman Matvey Ivanovich Platov, that was afterwards given the title of count for his great services.
